About Us

It’s been eight years since the residents of Chateau Elan first decided to open their homes to raise money for the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter.  Since that time, the annual It’s a Wonderful House event has welcomed over 13,000 guests and raised almost one million dollars for this very worthy charity.  Volunteers from the community are already hard at work planning the 2009 event which is scheduled for the weekend just before Thanksgiving, November 20-22, 2009.

This year’s event will feature The Village at Chateau Elan.  The Village is a magical wonderland during the holidays.  Adorned in garland and lights, it’s the picture perfect postcard of a Norman Rockwell Christmas.  Guests will be invited to step into this beautiful wonderland and enjoy the spirit of the season.  Six private homes, fully decorated for the holidays, will be open for touring.  Each of the remaining seventy-five homes in this picturesque Village will feature imaginative exterior holiday design.  Also included will be a variety of dining, shopping and musical entertainment, all carefully planned to celebrate the best of the season.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and all proceeds benefit the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter (click here to purchase tickets in advance).  The Gwinnett Children’s Shelter is a private, non-profit organization that provides for the needs of abused and abandoned children in our community.

Please visit the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter website to learn more about the Shelter and how you can get involved.
