The Village at Chateau Élan

Step into a Norman Rockwell painting where there are craftsman style homes with real front porches, where neighbors relax and the alleys are lined with private rear gardens, patios, and garages, and the beautiful crepe myrtles border each street.  In the Village at Chateau Elan, there is an obvious pride of ownership and a friendliness of the residents that give the community a small town warmth.  To learn more about the amenities of the Village and Chateau Elan, please click here.

The Dunlap Home

Dunlap Home
The 2 story yellow frame home is the original model for the Village.   There were many upgrades to the home such as central vac system, sub-zero refrigerator, a handpainted mural, finished garage with canned lighting and heating and air, plus a finished office over the garage. There are custom window treatments and plantation shutters throughout. There is a beautiful custom designed back patio and garden. Pam has many collections of china, crystal and Llardo and original artwork scattered throughout the home. Pam is a strong advocate of the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter and is thrilled to be opening her home to help raise funds for this asset of the community.

The Pignolet Home

Pignolet Home
Across from the Village Green Gazebo is the home of the Pignolets and their Lhasa Apso, Charlie. They custom designed the interior and reversed the living room and dining room, so the large island in the kitchen opens to the living room. This makes it ideal for entertaining. Jane describes her decorating style as traditional with a kick. The home is full of original artwork and has custom window treatments throughout. There is a fenced backyard where the Pignolets enjoy working and relaxing.

The Cowan Home

Cowan Home
Also across from the Village Green is the largest model of the Village homes, the Madison, which the Cowans discovered at the 2003 Tour of Homes. They loved the home and built it in 2004. There is an open floor plan that  provides an open view from the main living room into the front music room and back kitchen and keeping room. Pianist Dennis Nunnelley will be playing on the grand piano in the music room. The home also features a large recreation room upstairs that serves as the “man-cave” with a bar, pool table, and flat screen television. There is also a private courtyard that can be viewed from the living room, downstairs master bedroom and kitchen.

The Murray Home

Murray Home
In the center of the only full cul-de-sac, is the Murray home. Mandy and her parents are a combined household and they enjoy decorating and anything having to do with their home. It is the only home on the tour with a contemporary décor. It is filled with modern art, clean line furnishings, and ceilings that match wall colors. Warm earth tones of taupe, and rusty reds are in the main living area, the bedrooms are done in a variety of colors and soothing greens have been used in the keeping room and kitchen to compliment the custom pewter glazed cabinets. The Murrays love Christmas and there is a small touch of Christmas in every room. The main Christmas tree is non-traditional and Mandy and Doris change the colors and décor of the mantels every year. They love to see what the new items are for the coming season and how they can use them in their home. So come see the latest trends in their home!

The Jones Home

Jones Home
Next to the Murray home, is the beautifully appointed home of real estate professional Sandy Jones. Sandy’s home is traditionally decorated in jewel tones and the floor plan is the most popular one in the village. It features a great room with fireplace that is open to and part of the kitchen, eating area, and keeping room. She has antiques scattered throughout the home along with a collection of Serapi rugs. There are Christmas decorations in every room. There is a special angel tree decorated with angels she has collected and received as gifts. She collects the Christmas in the City Village and has made her ceramic Nativity set and Punch bowl and mugs that are part of her family’s Christmas traditions. After decorating the tree, her family would gather around and each person would open a gift of a Christmas mug that was then used for eggnog.  Sandy’s home also has one of the larger private fenced yard with a stone patio.

The Gurley Home

Gurley Home
On the front street of the Village is the home of the Gurleys where the Christmas spirit can be felt in every room. The spacious two story house features an open floor plan with a custom designed kitchen and expanded island. The adjacent roomy living room with its fireplace is a favorite room for entertaining throughout the year, but especially when decorated for Christmas. The traditional Christmas tree in the enlarged sunroom can be seen and enjoyed from the entire first level. On the upper level, the trees are decorated with Orrefors crystal, Lenox, and antique ornaments. You may also enjoy seeing other family heirlooms displayed throughout the house including china and crystal, original artwork, an 1800’s grandfather’s clock, WWI panoramic photos, and letters from President Herbert Hoover.
